What is Server Liability?

  • Provides Single Event or Annual protection for individuals and/or organizations who serve alcohol to the public.
  • Designed for full/part time employees and volunteers whose occupation includes serving alcohol.  
  • PAL’s Group Server policy is designed for service clubs or other organizations that are seeking Liquor Liability coverage on a single event or an Annual basis.
  • Hired to serve alcohol at a venue or reception style events only i.e bar wait staff, bartender for weddings etc., cashier at shopping centre (if selling alcohol) or insured has CGL in place elsewhere for mobile bar and needs coverage for server(s) hired to serve alcohol at an event
  • Don’t hold liquor permit.
  • EXCLUDING: NIGHTCLUBS, HOUSE PARTIES, PRIVATE PARTIES, FRAT PARTIES, COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY PARTIES.
  • Must be served at a licensed establishment with valid liquor license in place by Venue, ie: restaurant, bar, etc. or the Host of an event in which the named insured serves alcoholic beverages. If private property, such as service at a wedding on private property, approval by a PAL underwriter is required.

What's the Coverage?

  • $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 Liquor Liability coverage with a $250.00 deductible.
  • CGL extension is available for one-off events only

Coverage to be offered is for the Alcohol Server only. Policy does not extend to event host, therefore should be advised that the host of an event should carry their own event liability insurance.

All servers must be Smart Serve / Serving it Right / ProServer etc. certified. Certification number required.
